As we all know that this blog centres mainly if not only on legal issues, but on a day like this, it is important we acknowledge his impact towards the progress of this blog, he is our number one fan, am sure most of our readers got to know about us through his social media handles. Sir, We appreciate you  and wish you the best today and always HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR BON FROM ALL OF US AT YOUR RIGHTS UNDER LAW

We shall be discussing Equality Act of 2010 as it relates to age because its Mr BON’s birthday, this act brought together existing regulations that gave protection against ageism and other forms of discriminations; this law protects you against ageism in work place, training and education. This law protects your right not to be treated badly at work place because of your age.

Discrimination can either be directly or indirectly ,an example of direct discrimination at work is when you are treated less favourably  because of a protected characteristics, where an employer says ‘he will not promote you because you are too young or too old while an indirect discrimination is where a person is disadvantaged by something such as criteria that exclude people of their protected characteristics for example a job is advertised and the prospective employer states ...position for recent graduates, this is most likely to exclude most old people. This is common in Nigeria i think we need to task the government, trade unions and professional bodies to protect our rights and enforce this Act.

Victimization as a result of giving evidence for report made by someone else against discrimination, harassment  by colleagues simply because you are young or old. REPORT THEM

Contact a lawyer today and get your rights protected.

Thank you.
