KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

We may not have power over what others write but we definitely have power to educate people on what is right .I am not throwing shades neither is this write up pointing at anyone, it is just a need to put the wrong right.

There are so many write ups on the net this
days, most of them mislead the public , while some is written for writing sake. I have abandoned blogging for some time, this is not because i do not enjoy what i do but because as a young Lawyer you find yourself moving from one client to the other (this is against the ethics of our profession) but what can one do.

My attention has been drawn to what has been trending on the internet all day, Story about Miss Kemi Olunloye a blogger ,being remanded in the prison after being granted bail, i have read several opinions from people , some said its unfair, its injustice , some said she deserve to be remanded in the prison and so on.None of the comments that i was privileged to read answered the question at hand nor educate the audience. This got me thinking that no matter how busy i may be i should always do my bit to educate my fans.

Without taking so much of our time, when a court of competent jurisdiction grant an accused person bail, it does not mean the person should head home immediately, most of the time bail comes with terms and conditions .i.e surety, guarantor , civil servant of certain level, a blood relation with property within jurisdiction, all these varies depending on the offence/ matter before the court

Conclusively,Miss Kemi Olunloyo and anyone in such condition will have to be in custody until the conditions are met, in ability to meet such condtion does not about to injustice nor breach of fundamental human right.

Thanks for your time.

Yours,

Cremelawyer
